Kailash Overland Tour takes you to the holy land of Mt. Kailash through the newly opened Nepal-Tibet border of Rasuwagadhi-Kerung.The team of Yash Journeys will embark on a journey to take you to worship and hike around the sacred land of Mt. Kailash.
Started on September 2017 as an alternative route for the Mount Kailash this tour has made Mt.Kailash easily accessible from the outskirts of Nepal. The Kailash Overland Tour starts with a sightseeing tour at the capital city of Nepal. The guided tour will take us to the UNESCO listed world heritage sites of the valley. After the guided tour, we will get ourselves inside the Langtang National Park and cross the Nepal-Tibet border to arrive at Kerung from Kerung, we will drive to the villages of Saga, Mansarovar and Darchen with great views of the sacred Mt. Kailash, Mt. Gurla-Mandala, Rakshash Lake and the Lake Mansarovar. On day 9, we will start our 3 days long Kailash Kora. The major attractions of this tour include the sacred peak of Kailash, holy Lake of Mansarovar and the highest pass of Dolma La.
The Kailash Overland Tour takes 13 days for completion based on our default itinerary. The trip can be tailored as you your preference. The best time to visit the holy Mt.Kailash is between May-August.

Day 1
Kathmandu Arrival  Airport pickup and transfer to your Hotel. Short briefing about Kailash Manasarovar Yatra before dinner.
Day 2
Half day sighseeing. After breakfast Visit Pashupatinath, Bauddha nath stupa and Sleeping Vishnu, back to hotel. After lunch preparation for yatra.
Day 3
After Breakfast, group will departure to Dhunche / Syabrubesi. 1950m – 154km (Nepal-China Border) by private tourist coach. 6-7hrs drive. Overnight stay in Dhunche or Syabrubesi.
Day 4
After Breakfast drive to Nepal China Border by coach and group will clear Chinese border formalities and continue drive to Kyirong (3700m). 35 Km / 2 hrs.Overnight stay in Kyirong county.
Day 5
After Breakfast, Drive to Saga 100km / 5 hrs.
En-route, we are going to drive over Bharmaputra River and drive continue to Saga. Overnight stay in Saga.
Day 6
Drive to Lake Manasarovar (4500m) Chiu 422km / 6-7 hrs.
Today beautiful day drive to Chiu Manasarovar Lake crossing over Mayum La and Chhongo Lake one the way. On the south of Lake is Mt. Gurla Mandhata (7728m) on south and Holy Kailash on the north. Lake Manasarovar is considered the holiest of all of Tibet’s many lakes. Overnight stay in Manasarovar,
Day 7
Hawan at Manasarovar (4500m) and drive to Dharchen- 60 km.
In the morning, our staff will set up private bathing tent on the shores of Lake Manasarovar for the traditional sacred bath most pilgrims perform before circulating the holy mountain. We then perform puja and hawan on the banks. After lunch, one-hour drive to Dharchen. Overnight stay in Dharchen.
Day 8
First Day of Outer Kora – Trek to Dirapuk – After short drive, we will reach Tarboche and visit Yama Dwar. This is starting point for Kora. We will trek to Dirapuk (4860 m) which is 12 kms trek (5-6 hrs). You will visit North face of Mt. Kailash and touching the feet of Mt. Kailash (Charan Sparsh). Overnight stay in Dirapuk. Travelers who do not want to trek around (Parikrama) Kailash can go back to Darchen and wait for rest of the group to arrive from  Parikrama.
Day 9
Second Day of Outer Kora – On to Zuthulphuk with Trek to Dolma La Pass. Trek from Dirapuk to Dolma La Pass and proceed to Zuthulpuk (22 km trek for 7-8 hours trek). This is the most difficult journey throughout the yatra since you have to trek up to the 18,600 ft. From there descend to Gaurikund and further trek along with the river to Zuthul-puk. Overnight in Zuthul -puk.
Day 10
After short Trek (2 hrs) and reach to the point where the coach will be waiting and we will drive to Darchen and merge with other members who were waiting and drive to Saga. Overnight in Saga
Day 11
Drive to Kyirong 268 km / 6-7 hrs. Overnight stay in Kyirong county,
Day 12
Drive to Kathmandu 172 km / 7-8 hours. Arriving back at the hotel in Kathmandu, we will celebrate our successful trip with a banquet for all yatris (pilgrims).
Day 13
Transfer to airport for departure flight.
